Built in 1911 by the lumber barons of yesteryear
to serve as a general store the Inn was renovated in 1940 by Henry Ford. The
present day pub was added onto the Inn in 1959 to film the movie Anatomy of a
Murder, which was based on a true event which took place in Big Bay in 1951. The
Thunder Bay Inn offer you a friendly restaurant with a full bar, a large lobby
with fireplace, large porch with Spectacular views of Lake Independence and
surrounding area, gift shop and year round activities for the outdoor
